Government Senior Secondary School Lingee organized an Awareness Programme on mental health on 8th October, 2021 to observe the World Health Mental Health Week with reference to Letter from Additional Director Samagra Shiksha, Education Department, Gangtok and as directed by the Department of School Education and Literacy.
Students participated by the under the MANODARPAN initiative in different activities like elocution, poster making, speech, yoga, inspirational story telling etc. to provide psychological support to students and teaching and non-teaching school faculties under the guidance of Mrs. Kulshila Sharma, Ms. Munna Chettri, and Mr. Pratik Pradhan.
Students from class 9 to 12 participated in various activities to motivate students towards mentally healthy living.
Arun Pradhan of class 12- Science highlighted in brief about the importance of mentally healthy living, Sign and symtoms of metal illness it causes, its impact in once life and treatment. He also expressed in detail about what is mental health.
Binita Adhikari, student of class 12-Science narrated a motivational story on how can a person live a stress free life and how to develop a positive attitude towards healthy living.
Students from class 11 science presented different Yoga Asanas which are beneficial to live stress-free lives and also how to concentrate on studies.
Students of class 10 Sanchita Limboo, Yougal Chettri, and Hemant Chettri placed elocution on topics: Depression, Anxiety, and Eating disorders respectively.
Barun Pradhan of class 9 student had prepared a beautiful and illustrious painting on mental health problems.
Other students of class 10, Neha Poudyal, Parvati Adhikari, Nikesh Thapa, Yangdup Lepcha presented meaningful slogan related to mental health.
Lastly the programme ended with gratitude placed by Sir Hom Bahadur Chettri.
