The existence and successful survival of "Democracy" in such diverse conditions is the most celebrated fact about our country and constitution is its backbone. To reinforce in the significance and importance of constitution the government of India declared 26th of November as Constitution Day on 19th November 2015 by a gazette notification in remembrance of the Father of Indian Constitution Dr. B R Ambedkar.
Government Senior Secondary School Lingee, South Sikkim observed the Constitution Day or Samvidhan Divas on 26th November 2021 in grand manner. This special day is celebrated in our country on 26th November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India.
On 26th November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the
Constitution of India, which came into effect from 26th January 1950.
The programme was organized by the students of Class XI Humanities and chaired by the Principal Mr. Prahlad Dawari. This programme was attended by all faculties member and the students along with NCC and NSS volunteers. As the part of the programme three students delivered the speech viz Mr. Arun Chettri, Ms. Budhi Maya Rai, and Alisha Rai highlighted the definition and silent features of the constitution. It was witnessed with recitation of Preamble of Indian Constitution in enthusiastic manner.
The school Principal highlighted the importance of constitution and urged students to follow the Principles laid down in the Preamble to uphold the spirit of Indian Constitution.
The Programme was ended cheerfully with sweets distribution to students.
